Embracing Linguistic Diversity in Music.
Trovam EUxchange is an internationalisation project led by the Valencian Music
Association (VAM!) that aims to promote the export of Valencian artists who use Valencian
as their primary language of artistic expression. The initiative is structured around Fira
Trovam—a key professional event in the Valencian music sector—and establishes a
network of exchanges with European music fairs such as Babel Music XP (Marseille,
France), Fengaros (Askas, Cyprus), and Eurosonic Noorderslag (Groningen,
Netherlands). Its main goal is to strengthen the international visibility of the Valencian music
sector through concerts, co-creation activities, and professional meetings, all driven by a
common focus on linguistic diversity.
The project also champions the visibility of minority languages as a core component of
cultural identity and a distinguishing asset in international markets. By selecting both
Valencian and European artists who perform in minority languages, Trovam EUxchange
seeks to foster cultural connections, encourage transnational collaboration, and open new
business pathways. In addition, a long-term strategy is envisioned, which includes the
creation of a European network of music fairs, the consolidation of Fira Trovam as the
epicentre of this initiative, and the promotion of a replicable model across other European
regions.
